One of the homes of Tsar Nicholas and Tsarina Alexandra, a decent and tragic couple whose shortsightedness had so many tragic consequences for Russia. I first read their story when I was in the 6th grade.
One person I worked with when I was in Istanbul was a Russian citizen of Ukrainian and Serbian parentage. He said that at least the Romanovs had class and learning about them. Ever since their fall he said that Russia has been a mess ruled by peasants and drunk soldiers. He despises Putin.
Russia, another country like Turkey who is a mixture of the west and the orient. Both are an enigma.
This blog is about people: their social life, their religion, their political opinion, in Turkey, Greece, Italy, Armenia, Dubai and elsewhere. We, the authors are polyglots. We used to live in several countries and speak several languages. And ended up not in our nation of birth. We are not propagandists, we believe in honest and open discussions. Therefore, we welcome critical opinions, advice and are curious about our readers, so leave a note, comment or advice.
