Allies and/or friends?

I didn't see Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad smiling that much while delivering his infamous and hilarious speeches at Columbia University and at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. But when he met his friend and/or ally PM Erdogan of Turkey he was one big smile.
His remarks about homosexuals, 'we don't have them (right, they will be executed) and women 'they are exploited in the West' (not right, but women in Iran don't have any rights) must worry Turkey. I personally don't think that this co-operation between Iran and Turkey will be a benefit to Turkey in the long run. We will see.

One Iranian friend and former colleague told me a few weeks ago when we were chatting on MSN that Turkey is like Iran, "but without Iran's soul." He despises Ahmedinejah though and is pro-US. Maybe Erdogan thinks Turkey and Iran are alike too. I think Turkey is a hodge podge of various cultures, some nearby, some far. Some of it even remembers me of Mexico, strangely enough, for various reasons that I won't go into here.

Thanks for adding me:), Hans. I do not know if mine being listed will be relevant in a few days since your blog is for and about expats. The child and the family I am working for are a handful. I cannot help the girl because she has been spoiled beyond belief, plus other personality and learning issues as well. This is my 4th try at Istanbul, and I am just not well off enough to continue giving it a try here. I am exhausted mentally now. I will keep writing in my blog in the US, however. It is dull there, but I have debts and must live where I can make enough money to pay them off. Turkey is not the place for me to try and make a living. I gave it my best shot. Time to move on:)

I couldn't agree with you more!!!

Thanks for speaking up . . .

Ardent, if I critizize a political leader and must compare them with Bush et. than I better can stop..))

But I agree that when you invite someone to speak you don't ridicule him.

Jewish and Christians face immense problems and prosecution in Iran.

If you go to Haifa Israel, you will see Arabs (Palestinians) living side by side with Jewish and Christians. The same for Bethlehem and other places.

On this blog is 'a critical blog of Iran'. We in Turkey don't have acces to it since its hosted by wordpress.
Human right groups dont have any access to Iran...

Ardent execelent point, can't add more what you wrote.

Hans In israel the situation is lot worse then what you think! Those palestinians who are living side by side in Eilat, Bethlehem, haifa mainly are christian arabs, not musliams, I won't write my personal opinian what I think of Musliam Palistians arabs here:)

Really you can enter from Turkey to any Iranian Blogs:)) Let me try from here, as HSM promised freedom of speech:)
