A shot from Beirut



I could not resist to upload this picture here. It's made in Beirut, Lebanon, yesterday. This image is priceless. Although there is some kind of civil war going on, these people look feeling confident.

They got used to living like this since they are born, as the lady in the picture bit young! The bombs goes off on one side of the city and they still have traffic in the city and still go to night clubs:)That’s why Lebanese people buys the most expensive clothes, drives expensive cars and has don’t care attitude, although they don't have any money in their bank account, as they do not know if they will be alive tomorrow.

I lived in Cairo, Egypt, Jakarta Indonesia, Hurghada Egypt, Turkey for a while then Astana Kazakistan, Tashkent Uzbekistan, Dubai UAE, Damascus Syria, Amman Jordan, Beirut Lebanon, Abu Dhabi UAE and finally Dubai UAE again, hoping to stay little longer now as the kids are growing up:)

Interesting! Been to Cairo a long time ago, I am familiar with Indonesia..))
I didnt move around that much, but worked in many places: London, Paris, La Spezia (Italy) Mechelen (Belgium), Waldorf (Germany) and NYC. But I lived and worked in Prague, Miami and now Istanbul...))
Worked with around 50 nationalities..))
After Brazileans, Turks are my no.2
..))

Hans, I was in Beirut in 2003 and remember it looking just like this photo. It was a beautiful city and I must say that I really enjoyed being there. I hope they will each find some peace in their time.

Dear Hans of course you will know Indonesia better than any other EU country, when we were there, were still alot of Dutch made houses and many systems that works from Dutch concored time.

We lived in Cairo 95' in big greatest and oldiest Ramess Hilton::))

Also in the Netherlands are a lot of Indonesian houses built by Indonesian refugees i the early fifties....
Still a good elation with them tough...
